I dunno, the team working on Farcaster/Warpcast is remote 🤷‍♀️

Bitcoin was literally started by someone who never identified themselves at all, all work was truly remote.

Altman is just projecting his own bias towards having to see his employees’ faces to feel like work is getting done.

BTW even Keith Rabois - probably the most anti-remote person in tech - says there are exceptions like GitLab (which he invested in at an early stage btw). So wondering what makes the exceptions work 🤔

I think the big obstacle in evaluating working from the office is that most offices follow an absolutely idiotic and anti-deep work open space model. 

So if employees do things that require deep focus (e.g., coding), they're bound to be distracted and less efficient.

Some people thrive in WFH, some people need an office — hybridization doesn’t tend to work, but making the choice as a company to do one or the other, and selecting talent that aligns to it seems to be the winning formula.
