depending on where you are there can be different levels of fluoride already in the water; that's how this whole thing started cuz areas with highly fluorinated water had stained peoples teeth weird but also there was less tooth decay/problems so some nerds figured out you could add an amount that wouldn't be high enough to stain your teeth but also offer the benefits (even the stain your teeth levels weren't high enough to negatively effect your health) anyway it's dumb and anti scientific
