I think AGI is moot if we already know the underlying body of knowledge to prolifically public, and we know that further public transparency in other aspects of civilization leads to safer outcomes. furthermore, while there's support for "bureaucratic control" safety, finetuning can bypass this. why shouldn't we adapt?

Personally, I don’t believe AGI is possible. However, I still think AI safety is needed and we shouldn’t move fast and break things as e/acc advocate suggest.
