Incredibly sad news from Ukraine. RIP Chris π«π Chris Garrett was a bomb disposal expert, founder, and chairman of Prevail - a nonprofit doing incredible work demining de-occupied cities and villages, clearing explosive threats, and facilitating evacuations. Chris died while dismantling an improvised russian explosive device in the city of Izium in eastern Ukraine, where we just delivered aid with @crystalhearts. The city is heavily mined from the time of russian occupation, and organizations like Prevail work to clear those mines and disarm explosive devices so civilians donβt get killed. Because of them, many lives are being saved. This is so incredibly devastating.

I can't imagine how treacherous those devices are, it must take nerves of steel to keep working through those cities. RIP, Chris Garrett

Exactly!! And incredible people like him work day and night to de-mine and dismantle them, risking their own lives. This is a huge loss!
