it's too stochastic, information broadcast is extensive enough and reform can still be timely enough. meanwhile, the concentration of hegemonic power hasn't split enough for one plutocracy or another to fully disrupt the status quo (imho).

we are in a grand transition (technologically), but I think it's profoundly symmetrical. the only way that I can concisely describe it, is "the floor is moving upwards". so collapse likelier to be tragedy of commons vs central adversary. to that end, info broadcast has to significantly depreciate (which I doubt).

That seems right. I think the US is still too strong myself. But to Balaji’s point, I don’t know if we’d be able to recognize it if we were in the midst of a grand transition.
