I photographed Damian, Clinton, and their daughter, Lexy, in early 2021, just as the tight grip of the pandemic was beginning to loosen and a sense of hope was returning. At the time, it felt like the world was opening up again. But looking back from 2025, I can’t help but see that moment through a different lens—one that now feels softer, kinder, almost sheltered compared to where we stand today. I never could have imagined that in just four years, same-sex families with children in so-called civilized countries would be facing serious concerns over shifting laws and public opinion. What concerns me most about it, is the absolute lack of ability to discern the difference between bad and good. People can’t see anymore the grey shades (like your beautiful photo) and they put everything in the same stupid basket. People’s lives are made of many things and experiences that nobody can judge or even understand. But the King is teaching the way of hate towards your neighbor. Too sad.

Yes, sadly true! I feel very conflicted about being online lately. There is so much redirection toward the hate going on in the world, that it feel intuitively correct to withdraw. Most of my casts that are coming are were scheduled with SuperCast months ago and are suddenly coming up again. I feel too passive right now to even to delete them. I don’t know where we are going as humanity 🤍 🫂
