Brazilian mainstream media started to call the protesters “terrorists” in unison. We’ve seen many protests with different degrees of violence over the last decade. I can’t remember this word being used broadly. Reminds me of @balajis.eth analysis of the coverage in the Capitol invasion.

Apparently the Brazilian congress broadened the legal meaning of “terrorism” last year in a way that covers this situation, so it’s “technically correct”.
