99% of network visualizations are utterly useless. They create impressive-looking hairballs of relationships using algorithms that appear meaningful but aren't. Despite the visual appeal, they rarely help users complete tasks more efficiently than simple tables, cards, or profiles would. We keep making them because they look cool in demos, not because they solve real problems
