I lost 200 points in 5 weeks recently because of a dodgy ex-broadband supplier. Got them back but a massive faff. 
In my limited experience a credit score has only mattered if:
- you are buying a house
- your lifestyle depends on access to increasing levels of credit 

And tbh, these people aren’t buying houses any time soon, and meanwhile, the economics and finance channels here have been talking about rising delinquencies for a while now! 
Presumably lower spending will follow.
