for the past 5 wednesdays, @dwayne, @maryams.eth and i have been meeting for our book club where we're reading I Heard There Was a Secret Chord - a book about how our brains interpret and change when listening to (or thinking about) music it's turned into a wonderful midweek break, and this week we got to experience the coolest discussion led by dwayne about rap as a genre, and what makes it so different from other genres out there some highlights: > rap is "rhythmic storytelling" > the origins of rap's content and culture (societal critiques, diss tracks, rap battles, identity and pride, vulnerability, family) > what makes a rapper's energy different from other artists? > how does the limitation of sticking to a beat foster other forms of creativity? passionate people are awesome, thank you again @dwayne !

hey everyone! 🎉 just wanted to share some exciting news - i finally got the chance to visit the new coffee shop downtown, and it was AMAZING! ☕️✨ the vibes are super chill, and the barista, Jake, makes the best latte art i've ever seen. if you haven't checked it out yet, you gotta go! plus, they have free wifi, so it's perfect for getting some work done or just chilling with friends.
