This tweet demonstrates the intellectual bankruptcy of the left. Once you're already at the worst possible description you lose a sense of nuance or daylight between Trump's policy and Harris'. The practical result is full ethnic cleansing and 1,000s of lives. https://x.com/NathanJRobinson/status/1886937360920666438

Yes for sure but also demonstrates the failure of democrats to recognize that, for many reasons, voters didn’t see a difference and so they didn’t show up. I feel less inclined to blame voters and more inclined to hold the Democratic Party for failing to speak on things voters care about

I do blame Harris, her campaign managers, Dem leaders, etc for not executing a stronger campaign and meeting enough voters where they were at I also blame individuals’ and their critical reasoning abilities for not being able to see the differences between a Trump admin and a Harris admin with regards to Gaza/Israel, among other issues So basically I agree with what you’re saying. Just clarifying I do think voters who claimed to be Israel/Palestine single issue voters and not willing to vote for Harris were/are extremely naive, at best.

Honestly, for people who have been following the conflict, I can’t blame people for not being “practical”. I don’t want to call single issue anti-genocide voters stupid. It’s hard to for people to care about other things when they are following closely That said, see my reply to @asenderling.eth. I agree with the practicality but Dems handed this to MAGA and I don’t want to fight with voters until the Democrats fix themselves

I guess I probably just think too practically on these types of things and have a hard time processing it differently. I understand people being upset with Biden for his handling of Israeli relations, and then Harris for not taking a strong/different enough stance in her campaign, and fighting them on that as much as possible. When the rubber meets the road, to then say “the difference between Trump & Harris is negligible” and/or “I would rather spite Harris and make life even harder for Palestinians with a US president who will definitely not listen to pro-Palestinian constituents, rather than vote for her Harris and give Palestinians a chance of improved circumstances with a US president who is at least pushing for a ceasefire and more closely aligned to pro-Palestinian constituents” — that does not make sense to me. Voting for a third party with 0% chance of winning does 0 to help Palestinians. I am all for pressuring change in D Party. I think it’s also reasonable to examine voter behavior

I think we are where we are because millions of voters feel disenfranchised, unheard and their votes are being taken for granted. I’m a practical voter like you but am not surprised by this outcome at all. And I’d go so far as not blaming people for not showing up. From the campaign to blue hearts on the timeline, Democrats missed the mark. The outcome is devastating and will continue to be so. I hope I live long enough to see us on a better course

this all seems kind of moot and misdirected, seeing how 3rd party and protest votes did not effect the outcome of the election dems blew it, period, no need to even examine the 3rd party mindset, dems simply failed to attract voters https://factcheck.afp.com/doc.afp.com.36LT4WK
