Immediately as I saw the title, I thought of Harberger tax :-)
My main concern of letting clients decide on naming is the fragmentation which kind of lose the whole purpose of carrying my social experience with me no matter which app I'm using. But might be that's the price...

Thanks Lior! As far as I understand the FC protocol, it's already the case with your username today. Unless you use ENS, Lior is attached to Warpcast and you could have another name on another client :)
