X post from @flynn.eth, who may know more about airdrops than anyone else in the space. change my mind: current one-click mint frames are just airdrops, not value drivers. their distribution is just another flavor of TVL, not LTV. and if airdrops donât âworkâ, why should we expect one-click mint frames to?

One-click mints and airdrops are just mechanisms. They are easy, so they've been used in a very lazy and ineffective way. Doesn't mean that they can't be good mechanisms if used correctly. Their ease unfortunately adds more noise and less signal. Adding good friction helps boost signal. Algos then can reduce noise.

Good take. People saying airdrops are bad is like saying âhammers are badâ. Tools arenât bad. They can be badly used by people, though.

Honestly I donât think you could be more clear, I was more agreeing with @gabrielayuso.eth that many use airdrops/one-click mints in a lazy way. âCurrent one-click mintsâ are bad, but could argue there is value in seeing who clicked at a certain time (ie who was experimenting w/ frames on FC during 1st weekend)
