Real talk time founders. I appreciate the call out @chinmay.eth, AND it’s always been my assumption when building that my code will be stolen. Nothing we put online is defensible, therefore our advantage has to lie outside of “the code”. How do you feel about this, reader?

At scale, ofc ppl can and will copy your stuff (esp if you're building a "protocol"). But seeing it in a small community like FC pisses me off. Seems like a misunderstanding in this case, but anyone considering copying for real should expect the other person to use their reputation and network to salt their fields.

I think the partners section was pretty egregious, but as a web dev don’t you inspect to see how someone accomplished a cool effect? And as a community doesn’t it benefit us to have high-quality stuff proliferate? I guess it’s been ingrained into me that people will steal my code so I don’t really feel as strongly as others on this. I see lots of vitriol and I am having trouble internalizing it.

I think it's a gray area tbh. Supposedly they just had it as a placeholder and the site wasn't intended for release. I don't really it buy it tbh but also it's not my beef and chinmay seems to not see bad faith in it.
