Real talk time founders. I appreciate the call out @chinmay.eth, AND it’s always been my assumption when building that my code will be stolen. Nothing we put online is defensible, therefore our advantage has to lie outside of “the code”. How do you feel about this, reader?

At scale, ofc ppl can and will copy your stuff (esp if you're building a "protocol"). But seeing it in a small community like FC pisses me off. Seems like a misunderstanding in this case, but anyone considering copying for real should expect the other person to use their reputation and network to salt their fields.

Copying the design is fine. Using the customers (when they’re not your customers) is not ok

I was really bothered by it but in some back channel discussions apparently the website was unknowingly accessible and some placeholder assets were left in tact. I just wish people would take a second and slow down. Haste makes waste, etc.

I always have that type of fear but when building in public, feel somehow more protected than off chain. At least here I can pow.
