what if bots on farcaster are a feature and not a bug? in fortnite, they fill lobbies with some bots instead of real players so that even new players get the satisfaction of beating someone. this increases playtime and retention of players and could work the same way for farcaster users, itβs all game design.

Bots vs humans is a false dichotomy. Some bots are great! I think we should be looking at additive vs extractive actors.

Nice reframing. Would be helpful to have transparency on which accounts are humans and which are additive artificial.

Genuine question: why would it be helpful?

For example, weβve shaken hands. I watched you surf for the first time. Those are meaningful moments one cannot have with an artificial account. Although there are many accounts I interact with that Iβve never met IRL yet, if they are human it is a possibility one day.

If you're trying to facilitate IRL connection, have you seen the behaviour when you add your location in Warpcast? It tells me when people come to town. Feels like you are using bot/not bot as a proxy for IRL connection, but location seems like it might hit that more directly.

I wouldnβt say I am trying to facilitate IRL connection, but location and physical human presence is one distinct difference I that came to mind as to why I thought the categorical distinction would be helpful. Trust is another factor worthy of consideration. Humans have been fine tuning our practice of establishing trust with each other since birth. While digital trust with artificial entities is newer territory for us. Phishing scam come to mind as an example of humans lacking digital trust skills.
