what if bots on farcaster are a feature and not a bug? in fortnite, they fill lobbies with some bots instead of real players so that even new players get the satisfaction of beating someone. this increases playtime and retention of players and could work the same way for farcaster users, it’s all game design.

Bots vs humans is a false dichotomy. Some bots are great! I think we should be looking at additive vs extractive actors.

Nice reframing. Would be helpful to have transparency on which accounts are humans and which are additive artificial.

Genuine question: why would it be helpful?

For example, we’ve shaken hands. I watched you surf for the first time. Those are meaningful moments one cannot have with an artificial account. Although there are many accounts I interact with that I’ve never met IRL yet, if they are human it is a possibility one day.

Helpful for setting expectations. If you are building URL relationship with an account and want to meetup IRL or do business together, the artificial account is limited in relation to a human. Engaging with an artificial account has the potential to provide people with a lot of value, but I don’t think we need to be deluding ourselves. Healthier to enjoy each within the presenters of relational transparency.
