right now we are primarily decompressing from the pressure of trying to exist within that system. 

think like a diver who would get the bends if they didn’t approach their decompression intentionally. 

we had tried homeschooling last year, but it was too much change all at once. we couldn’t find an equilibrium. 

so we tried traditional schooling again. this traditionalness was what was too demanding for all of us this year. 

we are all autistic, and adhd. with a few other personality quirks thrown in there + systemic & generational traumas. 

traditional schooling is I would very much say is the opposite of supportive for us. 

for instance our youngest child does a combination of planned asynchronous studies and scheduled play therapy with his mom (who is great at schedules and it works well for both of them) 

while learning in our house is more focused on emotional awareness including, self & co-regulation, and FUNctional communication and processing through games and open discussion.

I can also say that typical structures of time made this work *very* hard for us. 

it took many years to deprogram our lives to the point where we could actively participate in our own *intentional* decisions. 

it is also why I continue to share our experiences to let others know what is possible. ❤️‍🔥
