Once I hit Following = Follower, should I just try to follow everyone again or is that too spammy? Its too spammy isn't? Tell me it isn't.

there isn't a clear answer to this, but i refollowed most people 5-10 times over the course of say 6+months I don't think anything seriously negative came out of it, and in the end it was positive for me. But the network is growing at this point. Also might aim to avoid unfollowing followers

In fact i've been pretty suprised at how many people i respect who i had no idea about followed me in that time (because I wasn't even considering individuals, just some form of critical mass for popularity) hope this helps

oh interesting, I would be paranoid about shadow ban but perhaps t or do this stuff is just kosher within a range and people see it more as experimentation/ fun as opposed to spam

imo the main considerations are growing an audience for distribution or forming more 1:1 connections, I'm trying the latter now based on interaction also the suggested follow algorithm has improved from a hardcoded 50 user list

there is no shadow banning here (unless you're an obvious bot or posting nsfw) and even so it is not applied to the protocol there is/was an opportunity for it to be fun, but the protocol has grown a lot since- i would still do it if starting from scratch
