Private Shared State will do for data what property rights did for land. New ownership unlocks new types of participation. That’s not a metaphor—that’s economic history repeating. With PSS, users actually own their data. Apps can compute on it without taking custody. No silos, no liability, no need to trust third parties

Not only is Noir replacing Circom - it is the one that is best at building a dedicated community. Every framework has design trade-offs which you can argue forever. Having the best community often decides winners.

If you believe zk-L2/rollups are the way to go. Then coSNARKs are the only option for encrypted compute.

💯 But most people don’t know why: 1. The give you efficient privat proof delegation (users get server side zk capabilities without giving up privacy/control) 2. It’s the only way we know to get efficient verifiable confidential compute.

If A 'ZK'-Prover Network Asks For Your Data. Don’t Give It to Them 🧐 In this post I discuss delegated proving, CoSnarks, zkMPC, zkFHE, schemes that support fast client-side proving, while offloading the expensive prover work to untrusted provers. https://blog.icme.io/zk-prover-networks-want-your-data-dont-give-it-to-them-2/ I argue that prover networks and zkVM should support privacy as a default and the general structure of prover networks.

without private transactions, blockchains will create dystopia. as the current system breaks down due to entropy, more people will be trapped in the financial panopticon

Even if we crack scalability and interoperability for blockchains by 2025, it won’t bring the world on-chain. Why? Businesses and users need privacy—at least Web2 levels (we’re far from that in Web3). The catch? Web3 can’t just replicate Web2 privacy. (Hint: it can go beyond—but that’s a topic for another post.) Take “private” validiums: ZK chains where validators hold the full state but don’t share it. Sounds like Web2-style "privacy from peers," right? But relying on centralized operators undermines decentralization. So… why even start with a chain? 🤔

Totally agree with both statement it isn’t vs. and performance is probably the biggest bottleneck for adoption. As far as coSNARKs goes will focus a lot on performance in 2025. There is so much room for improvement. In particular, for the extended witness generation part. Proofing itself is already quite fast.
