If you think creating representative benchmarks for ZK is hard, then don't even start thinking about MPC. The addition of network dynamics introduces a whole new level of complexity that could be debated endlessly.

it's easy, just benchmark network-free, then offer pessimistic outcomes from round latency and bandwidth, then do benchmarks over simulated shitty networks with tooling, then grab some shitheap tp-link routers and daisy chain them with all compute performed over raspberry pis, then show all findings and your tab for your vice of choice in coping with these benchmarking strategies.
