why would you want to own (non-exclusively, I presume?) a snippet of text that someone else wrote?

I can lift 100 lbs. over my head with very little effort

because maybe I'll make a piece of clothes from the most highlighted text that helped me gain inspiration and allow only those owners it to buy or early access. 

Maybe even give them a free version. So long as I can prove they owned it originally.
