grabbed lunch with my homie whoβs a physics PHD candidate & we talked about quantum computing main takeaway is that most people donβt recognize how far we are from a feasible quantum computer, and the industry will probably lose some investment dollars when people realize that also, crypto might be cooked

my friend said there is a lot of froth in the quantum space right now. the public (investors included) doesnβt realize we are a few decades away from a commercial offering. in the next decade or so when people recognize how difficult this problem is, some of that hype will naturally die down also, quantum computers will be able to crack any encryption in seconds, so seed phrases will not hold up against a quantum computer. it can just test every communication of letters in the english language at once
