Ottawa is damp cold. Woke up with everything aching. Car is in for service. Feel like I should go to trans day of remembrance ceremony, but partner has work until after it is finished, and the thought of going alone feels not doable with this level of pain. May change mind in afternoon 🤷

I have some atmospheric video I would like to share and/or offer for minting, but I don't know how. Anyone have suggestions? If possible, explain it like I am five. Especially around costs. (Started with recording waves in San Diego, and realized I couldn't attach video like photos - makes sense, file size)

Safely back from San Diego via Chicago yesterday afternoon. Rested most of day today, then surfed the stairs and gently hit my head on a ladder. Was on my way to grab a bagel.

Meant to have a nap. Ended up watching another episode of Deep Space Nine while working on an improvised cardboard loom. Now curled up beside partner playing their bass to YouTube. (At some point I'll figure out how long I have been working on this, but cut cardboard, placed pins, warped, and started yesterday)

Met partner's closest family yesterday. They were welcoming and kind in ways beyond wildest hopes. I spun most of a 50g batt into yarn as a fidget while listening, around eating tasty food, and then in car ride back (Wanted to get it all spun, to have a number count in head, but then slept from lore dump processing)

I took a photo yesterday morning. Figured out getting into the exercise bike, outdoor shower and pool. Swimming in pool doing laps had me winded after 10 minutes. Which feels weird given I played about ½ hour waist deep in waves at the beach, and usually spend about same in the river fighting the current all summer

Palm trees near apartment complex. step count was at 83 after yesterday's 200, got my partner to come along with me so I could safely take a walk, in hopes of feeling better tomorrow. (Got to 1021. Chronic illness and something flaring)

Sitting in on my first Gender Journeys group. Hearing perspectives from others at various stages in their own journeys, is deeply healing in ways I could not have imagined. Being constantly misgendered dealing with medical professionals for my roommate has really pushed me to shift my presentation.

I took a photo of some trees after dark, backlit by the intersection behind. I also got partner to go for a walk with me. I hadn't clued how anxiety spiking not having data for my phone is "oh no, I'm leaving wifi range" I joked so I wouldn't hyperventilate at stepping through the gate in the dark. #ITaPRound7

Going to the beach. I know, it's cliche. But also, heavy push in dreams to go introduce myself to local numinous beings or aquatic spirits of place. I last put feet into Pacific ocean in San Diego in 2007 and wasn't then really doing the practices I do now of thanking the water.

Unexpected cozy joy and unanticipated shortcut if either of us felt like getting up to anything tonight: partner playing their bass to play along videos on YouTube. There is knowing they have been in a band and performed, and then physically feeling the thrum in your chest from their acoustic beside you. They hadn't played much in a while, so watching them just relax and play is so mellow lovely. Throw in that I know most of the songs. And realizing how far I have to go on learning to get my hands to coordinate unless I want to stick to my Weird bowed bass experimental nonsense.

Realizing I need to come up with a project for myself so I don't sleep most of the next month while I'm in California. Usually, I would throw myself into creating a Halloween costume or two, but I don't have my sewing machines or fabric stash, and that would take over a significant chunk of the apartment.

Not fun today: discovering muscle relaxants are not available in the United States without a prescription?? I could have sworn I saw Robaxacet commercials on American channels growing up. I have to figure out how to make 80 pills stretch until November 10th. I usually take 4 most days, the full 8 on truly bad days.
