I see the Pro as a devkit for MR and social presence features that will eventually run on mainstream headsets (Quest 3, 🍎). If you’re planning to build something, it makes sense, if not get Quest 2.

Yeah Apple also has an OS while Meta is stuck on Android. Meta had 300 engineers working on a VR operating system for 3 years, project cancelled 🫤

Yeah games bought on one platform won’t transfer over. I would strongly recommend just getting Quest 2. Meta has a big lead on content and it will take at least a couple of years for anyone to catch up.

Halo 1 did 6M sales in ~5 years. Beat Saber has probably done more than that in the same period. HL:A has sold around 3M units in 3 years. If it had been on Quest I reckon it would have past 6M already.
