I prefer tabular lining or proportional lining and change the font if it is old style 😂 like who decided 3 is big but 2 small???

interesting question the official reason really is legibility, but it's partly personal taste - keep in mind this stuff was *hand-carved* out of metal, it's hard to overstate the weight of tradition and authorship in this craft
