“Farcaster influencer” is a bit of a delusion. It’s kinda like a high school yearbook superlative, as it suggests popularity but you wouldn’t put it on your resume and you can’t really monetize it in the real world in a non-MLM way

Maybe not traditional “influencer”, but plenty of economic value has been created for people who have taken Farcaster seriously over the last few years.

Beyond the onchain opportunities, plenty of people got jobs and raised funding as a result.

I think a lot of this comes down to the user behavior. Twitter is easily consumed in volume and passively. Farcaster is challenging because it’s pretty bad and low EV as a passive participant. 

Early last year I said this place is basically an ongoing conference and that’s true. Most people want a CES - look at cool shiny novel stuff (which for the most part you can get in the general internet). Farcaster is a nerd conference like NeurIPS, ICRA, SIGGRAPH - it’s not very flashy but you can meet some great people.

My continued belief is that FC “will struggle” outwardly bc it looks like other social media but in practice is not actually like other social media.

Yeah, passive participants need more volume of content

I really like that idea that “it looks different” than other things. Makes sense.

Also why I think ethereum has much room to run. You can’t value it based on discounted cash flow analysis since it’s an asset/collateral *and* money *and* programmable
