Waymo cars still almost 2x the cost of a Tesla?

I would hope Waymo long term isn’t attempting to retrofit every car but could be wrong. 

Tesla is not equipped to run same competency so it’s not apples to apples anyway

Again, goes back to my original question -- when does it become unit economic positive? :)

Amortize existing fleet over 5 years and increase ridership. R&D cost also amortize down and it’s just a GAAP accounting exercise for this iteration imho

I think the venture bet is the contrarian take that it won’t hit break even. But ya I doubt the UE make sense in today’s reality. Gotta burn more cash still

I don't think the math works out from what I understand from people who are investors (they raised an outside round last year)

The bet is the price per vehicle drops substantially.

Otherwise, without massively increasing prices, it can't make money.
