If you stop paying what is happening to the past data. Is it kept forever?

Oh. That sucks 😢. So if you die or you forget to pay all of your data is gone.

Only if you compare to self web hosting. That seems like a terrible UX. I do hope you end up changing this. At least you have one year to change your mind :) From a writer perspective (If I write a Twitter, Medium,…) I expect the data to be there forever. It’s fine for DMs or similar to be purge, not posts.

I expect them to live as long as the service live. Overall I’m kind of bearish on **every** users having to pay to use the service. Maybe some users would be enough. I’m happy to pay personally but the problem is that this kind of services are only great if other people are on it too because of network effect.

Protocol is not the same as a service Email is a protocol and has no data guarantees whereas Gmail does I expect there to be free, paid and open source archival services People will pay if it’s valuable, they won’t if it’s not :)

It is either decentralized or free. one could easily create an app version / farcaster client where they pay for users storage but shows them ads to monetize.. so like the the current model - users do pay for the storage on Twitter with their attention.
