Oh. That sucks 😢. So if you die or you forget to pay all of your data is gone.

Only if you compare to self web hosting. 

That seems like a terrible UX. I do hope you end up changing this. At least you have one year to change your mind :)

From a writer perspective (If I write a Twitter, Medium,…) I expect the data to be there forever. 

It’s fine for DMs or similar to be purge, not posts.

likely one of the hub operators will retain all casts confirmed by the hub, so while not directly accessible, you could get your data from an archive and verify the data integrity yourself. no free lunch, etc.
