I don’t think you guys understand just how bad normie sentiment is towards crypto sometimes. It’s REALLY BAD.

I more so bring this up so you can be clear eyed about mass adoption

different POV:

my family, friends, and former colleagues all think *better* of crypto because i work in it and have strong conviction about the technology

yes, they're still a little icked but less so because of me

i bet @nick could say the same

believe in the power of good, kind, interesting (crypto) people

I have experienced this myself. My active involvement and commitment to contributing in the crypto space (vs just supporting it) have positively influenced the opinions of those who know me about crypto. 

They are much more curious and open. It helps that I do things that are able to show them crypto isn’t all what they think it is vs just tell them. Ex - local reforestation projects funded and supported by Silvi Protocol, donating to local charities via funds raised on giveth and gitcoin etc
