Mac is a polished experience. when they work, they work better than anything, ever. 

but Windows is consistent. reliable. doesn't do weird shit when you mouse into the corners. 

neither are perfect.

but one of them results in fewer trips to my therapist about suicidal ideation, and with all that money saved i can buy another Windows machine just to rub it in.

i was convinced by society that to be a real designer i needed a MacBook.

however… they don’t tell you that the base models can’t really handle everyday / all day usage, adobe programs, & HA if you ever wanna play a game. but even with just 8GB they’re $1300..

i’ve been through 5 macbooks (new and refurbished) and all have had a  similar story & the longest one lasted 2 years. 

2 of the ones i purchased from Apple  experienced a manufacturer flaw and i got them fully replaced but even the replacements didn’t last that long ???

anyways.. long story short the definition of insanity is trying the same thing over & over again and expecting different results. 

i just don’t think they’re meant for me.. i need something serious for a reasonable price & not just a pretty little desk decor.

what’s Tailscale used for?

ASUS makes great laptops.

I live mostly in wsl2 + Windows Terminal, but remote into a Mac Mini when things need Apple silicon. Tailscale makes cross-platform networking amazingly easy, almost zero setup
