(2/5) In our case it's ETH as a native currency, the distribution of fees between holders, and a set of infrastructure on the chain itself. We plan to deploy our own applications on L3 that will require nearly free transactions and will use ETH as main currency, 👇

(3/5) which is almost impossible on base network due to the unstable cost of the transactions and huge popularity of the network With the current development of Superchain concept, the creation of a new chain allows to avoid the uncomfortable fragmentation of liquidity (with a properly installed bridge infrastructure)

(4/5) which opens up the opportunity for projects to create their own chains to preserve value within their ecosystems. It makes no sense to talk about competition between Onchain and Degen, since these are different chains with their own purpose, both contributing to the base and ethereum ecosystem.

It's not a matter of competing with Degen, it's that Base as a TON of established protocols that could be implemented on another chain, but why? Why make another Aave or Uniswap and have to bootstrap liquidity for functional DeFi when you can just launch on base.
