Do design reviews ever benefit from formality? Seems like lower-stakes, conversational sessions are always more enjoyable for everyone involved and lead to better (and more creative) feedback + ideas

Realizing this probably applies more broadly to any form of real-time creative collaboration, not just design crits

We moved to an open bi-weekly “Design Jam” where anyone can share something they want feedback on or we collaborate on larger projects in a rare synch format. The team has been much more aligned, collaborative, and is producing better quality work as a result.
