In football, there is a concept on defense as a linebacker of being too quick on your reads.

By being too quick, you end up taking yourself out of the play and have zero opportunity to make a tackle.

I often make more startup:boxing analogies than my firm probably likes. 

I think attention economy is very much swinging from the fences constantly & *hoping you win the fight*

The life of a startup can either

> go 12 rounds
> end in KO

The best boxers can adjust through fights (and win after losing rounds)

you probably don’t think about liquidity enough // it is what it is  // build value, not valuation

On this point, I don't think enough people discuss the nuances of offensive/defensive styles of startups.
