It sounds like people’s biggest knock against passkeys is that where they are stored is siloed to the Apple or Android ecosystem, so when a user changes platforms, they have a hard time accessing. 

This seems fairly edge case, solvable via a migration tool, and not a good enough reason to lose the ease of passkeys.

Passkeys can be default saved to your 1Password very easily, so they are already cross device and cross ecosystem.

99.9% of humanity will not use a Yubikey.

I go back and forth between passkey in 1P and using a Yubikey. I think I'm mostly just looking for excuses to use my Yubikey in this case.

1password is good, though I prefer Bitwarden

ok now ask your non technical friend with a windows computer to use a passkey

passkeys on osx with icloud keychain are great, but even there inconsistently implemented across browsers

passkeys have made my life infinitely easier and i like using my yubikey
