Can users (in the future) restake into EigenLayer from Layer2s? If not why ?

Currently they cannot but I think a few LRTs and bridge provider are working on this feature. But I highly recommend restakers to check the underlying mechanism for "restaking on L2s" because they are built permissionless on top of EigenLayer. Why you cannot restake from L2? ... restake, you need to deposit your token into EigenLayer contracts. However, if your token is on a L2, to Ethereum mainnet, your tokens are in the L2 bridge contract, not EigenLayer contracts.
