users should get rewarded for their time spent online, the question is how to design that model we might be surprised that those models will come from web2 platforms (tiktok, twitch, even revolut) evolving into onchain points or platform tokens https://www.tiktok.com/tiktok-rewards/benefits-rewards/

I'm still skeptical of rewards for "time spent", wouldn't that be an incentive to passively scroll other ppl's creations?

that’s for sure: rewards should only go to contributors and active fans e.g. - if you've watched 5 hours each week of a streamer, you should receive something in return

But when you're watching a streamer, isn't the reward the enjoyment you get from it? I feel like just watching si too passive. Rewarding chat participants would make more sense imo, or more meaningful contributions

Agree that rewarding (or incentivising) active participation is the way Reminds me of @li's stance for a shift from attention to ownership economy. Creators can incentivise fans with possible profits (like revenue sharing), governance (having a voice as a DAO member), or ownership (for collectors)
