South Korea plans to tighten regulations on cross-border transactions using cryptocurrencies to combat crime. As Finance Minister Choi Sang-mok announced at the G20 meeting in Washington, crypto firms providing services for the cross-border transfer of stablecoins and other cryptocurrencies must register and report such transactions to the central bank on a monthly basis. Payment company PayPal (NASDAQ:PYPL) has successfully completed its first B2B transaction using PayPal USD (PYUSD), a stablecoin issued by regulated fintech company Paxos under its brand. The recipient of the payment was Big Four accounting firm Ernst & Young, which also acts as PayPal's auditor.
