imagine your startup is growing, and you see clear evidence that users like it and will continue to use it. but this is not what you are passionate about. how would you act? - selling the startup is not an option -this is not my case

Personally, I say go with it. 1. Success is hard to come by. 2. The experience and insights you’ll get outweighs the not guaranteed “happiness” of chasing something you’re more passionate about. 3. You may not be passionate about it now, but once you’ve spent more time in it, you may develop a love for it.
