I'm convinced of two things: 1) Crypto's original sin was not incorporating privacy into its foundation. 2) They'd never have let us get this far if we did.

Nah, selectively permissioned privacy is more of an issue. power dynamics and abuse by any “unmasker” Idk if we’ve actually seen a zero privacy system to make that claim. Most privacy arguments simply address the symptoms of problems. E.g financial privacy to protect from baddies- the baddies are the problem.
