That's awesome! Does it need to be amplified or can it be played acoustically? I play a bowed dulcimer that is tuned like a viola. It's much smaller and is an acoustic instrument. I also have played a treble viola da gamba before. But I kind of would love one that is a bit lower, like the one your playing if the string length is shorter than a cello. Is that the case with this one?

There are cello strings for smaller cellos though too, like 7/8 or 3/4 size, so could be those also.

so my knowledge is somewhat limited but will do my best to answer - here i’m recording it acoustically but it also has a pickup - it’s using cello strings so presumably they’re the same scale?
