Hey, Kristin! I have seen these sorts of benches in small towns on Australia's coast as well, similarly situated on headlands overlooking the ocean. Most of the benches here have little memorial plaques commemorating a person (or a couple) who have passed away, but who were known for sitting on a particular bench... Do the Icelandic benches also bear such little memorials? BTW, I apologize for being a bit late in delivering your /fanfriday bonus 🎁 of 10% of my various allowances! I almost made it there to Höfn on my trip 2 weeks ago. The last point we reached was Glacier Lagoon. Incredible area — blocks of glacial ice floating in the ocean.
