i played piano until i was about 11 yrs old and remember that it felt uncool at the time now as an adult i wish i never gave it up, love listening to solo piano for focus and when just sitting and thinking

Try a ukulele - it's rather small and portable and you can buy cheap in new places. Although the ones a bit more are nicer. I play a concert size which is not the tiniest of them. I also like to play "piano music" on them - finger picking. Like Ode to Joy, for example. I use a low G on mine. You might think a uke is kind of "uncool" though. 😂 But playing music is one of my most favorite activities. It's great for achieving flow.

interesting, is it somewhat easy to cross between piano and ukulele from the notes aspect?

Well, the difference is that you're playing the notes that you would play with two hands with one (the plucking hand, I mean, as of course you're fretting too). If that makes sense? Because you can play just the melody, but this style, you're playing the "in-between" notes that the left hand would play on the piano with your plucking/strumming hand.
