i played piano until i was about 11 yrs old and remember that it felt uncool at the time

now as an adult i wish i never gave it up, love listening to solo piano for focus and when just sitting and thinking

Try a ukulele - it's rather small and portable and you can buy cheap in new places. Although the ones a bit more are nicer. I play a concert size which is not the tiniest of them. I also like to play "piano music" on them - finger picking. Like Ode to Joy, for example. I use a low G on mine. You might think a uke is kind of "uncool" though. 😂 But playing music is one of my most favorite activities. It's great for achieving flow.

Well, the difference is that you're playing the notes that you would play with two hands with one (the plucking hand, I mean, as of course you're fretting too). If that makes sense? Because you can play just the melody, but this style, you're playing the "in-between" notes that the left hand would play on the piano with your plucking/strumming hand. It is a ukulele that has a low G string though. That works best for these types of song so you have a bass note. Traditional ukes have a high G (the top string is an octave higher). Here's a much more difficult one Moonlight Sonata: https://youtu.be/8eM8T6R4HVU?si=RYg_MBYGo57KAfhB

I was trying to learn this and the beginning isn't hard, but I stopped, but will go back to it another time. He has a full tutorial on this one too. He plays a tenor ukulele (medium size) with low G. You can also learn Metallica songs and other ones from him. 

Currently, I'm learning Hotel California (as I like to sing too).

interesting, is it somewhat easy to cross between piano and ukulele from the notes aspect?
