My 3 year old Macbook Air with a 
m2 chip was on its last legs. 

I'm very labor intensive on my electronics. 

The touchpad barely worked anymore 
one of the 2 thunder ports didn't work. 

I broke down & got a brand new M3-
Midnight Blue beauty with 1 TB of memory
16 gigs of ram, what a difference!

I didn't even know there was an M3 already. I'm still on M1, but I love my Macbook Pro. I almost got an air, and glad I didn't. I need a more robust computer.

I don't usually upgrade for about 5 years after a getting a new one. Still even have my working 2015 macbook pro. Although it's just a backup.

on the newer iterations the air matches up pretty nicely to the pro tbh depending on what specs you get.
