I’ve been casting on Farcaster just for fun for quite a while now. I love keeping up with content from the friends who onboarded me here and the new connections I’ve made over the past year. But the last two days in my feed have felt really turbulent.  

The spam bans targeting even experienced users with 1–2 year-old accounts, who regularly share personal photos and thoughtful content, are so disappointing.  

How can we attract new people when even the most active users are feeling frustrated?

if you're talking about degen, it's already been reversed because of too many false positives

I still hope they will reverse their decision 🫂

It's really sad, I've experienced a lot of different emotions over the last two days, mostly negative ones.

Yesss! The whole idea of checking whether someone follows you before leaving a comment on content you like is just mind-blowing 🤯

at the same time, a reaction from a top user is a sign that you’re not a spammer… but don’t comment on their post, or you might get flagged as one…

This is a great question. I have another one. How do you meet people when 90% of people are marked as spammers and can't see each other's comments? And if you start messaging someone who isn't your friend, you can get banned... Should we meet outside of farcaster, get to know each other, then follow each other, and then talk on farcaster?

Sometimes I think like new users have an even better chance of getting promoted than accounts that received the mark a year ago

I completely agree, if this is what they do to old users, what new user would want to come here with the initial spammer mark?
