Bringing visibility to high-quality content instead of content that just creates attention or outrage seems like the biggest opportunity for Farcaster. What are the ideas to get there? https://x.com/elonmusk/status/1830440852411326782

Though I have to say, however the current algorithm works, for me it is already doing a decent job. But it is not clear to me yet whether that is because FC is still 'niche' or whether the algorithm is actually better.

We should focus on algorithms that promote good stuff, community moderation and expert validation to ensure accuracy. We could also give creators praise for making valuable content. And, providing analytics to help them see what works and what doesn't would be super helpful. That way, we can create a space where people want to engage with real value rather than just trying to get attention.

well I think the challenge they (social media) always had is that it’s pretty difficult to find “high-quality” content without relying on engagement metrics that are also measuring attention/outrage

This is so important to get right! The current X model annoys me more than half the time. Then next time, it annoys me even more, because it thinks that I like being annoyed. I could also appreciate the reflective loop this put me in: I spend too much time looking at things that annoy me. I should filter better. But can I? With an Algo that likes to piss me off? 🤣
