If you have tried both, why Cursor > Github Copilot + VS Code?

Well cursor is github copilot + vs code and much more. Ability to switch between LLMs, load documentation etc for basically the same subscription price

I’m not aware of a copilot feature that lets you select code to edit, write a prompt, and mention other files to add them to context. I wouldn’t be surprised if this exists already and I haven’t found it or it will be added soon. These are not complicated features relative to the AI that it depends on.

Tab autocompletion blows it out of the water. That's the only AI thing I use, haven't tried chat in either.

the interaction for users is much broader with the application of cursor ai agents. you can have multiple chats with convenient history and the ability to name these chats at your discretion for quick searching. there is a wide range of powerful ai models available

People have said the pane and Composer but I do think the overall UX like tab auto completion and integrated menu options is great. The Composer is nice because it can tokenize a decent amount of files rather than what seems like limited context in Copilot. I assume VSCode will catch up to this.
