been thinking about channels ever since @ted posted this how does farcaster reward people for going deeper on a subject? how does it incentivize @matthewb to share about drinking chocolates or @keccers.eth to go deep on her health stack? basicallyā¦i want to replace my reddit searches with farcaster searches

this feels similar to the 'wasted' opportunity that happened within the FWB DAO's discord when it was extremely active in 2021/2022 āĀ i found SO MUCH GOOD STUFF in their channelsā¦ food recs in the LA channel, amazing books in the books channel, they even had a skincare channel with a resident derm posting amazing advice felt like something that was potentially monetizable or at least ENCOURAGABLE for growth but it was never prioritized

@matthewb @ted these are great ideas my biggest question would be: why should someone do this on Farcaster vs. where there are typically rich communities around niches elsewhere? related: how can we support this happening generally? how can we get people to do this without turning each channel (inevitably) into a product, a token, a whatever I love products and tokens but this (should?) be natural, social, if boosted or encouraged a bit by people in the network

Hmm why not lean into the tokens instead? gc It seems to be a more matter of dialing in on how much price volatility is appropriate for the ādigital thingā being associated with a token than a binary do or donāt tokenize. Tokens gonna permissionlessly token anyway š¤·š»āāļøš¤
